About Model Civilian

Capable, not costumed.

Model Civilian teaches real self-defense and preparedness skills for everyday people. No tactical gear. No military cosplay. No fear tactics designed to sell you something. Just training that actually works, explained by someone who uses it.

Why this exists

Most self-defense content falls into one of two traps. It either scares you first and sells you second, or it buries you in gear and jargon that make you look the part without building the skill. Tactical vests. Operator vocabulary. A whole aesthetic built to impress rather than protect.

Model Civilian skips both. You don't need a uniform to be capable. You need training you've actually practiced, a level head, and the judgment to use both at the right moment. That's it. That's the whole system.

Who's behind it

I have spent 9 years training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, and I recently went back to white belt to start judo from zero. I have worked in executive protection and private security, and I have put serious hours into firearms and gunfighting training. Before any of that became public facing, I spent years in marketing, including running marketing for a media company, and later building an AI marketing agency from the ground up.

None of that makes me an expert standing above you. It makes me further down the same road. I am still training. I am still getting things wrong in ways a white belt gets things wrong. I am the first student of everything taught here, not the finished product of it.

That is the point. This isn't a channel built around a finished expert handing down answers. It's built around someone still doing the reps, still getting tapped, still learning, and sharing what actually holds up along the way.

What you'll get here, and what you won't

You'll get skills explained clearly enough to actually use, not buried in jargon meant to sound impressive. You'll get honest answers about what works and what doesn't, based on real training and real protection work, not internet mythology.

You won't get scared into anything. If a video raises an alarm, it also tells you why it's happening, what's actually in your control, and one thing you can do about it today. If it can't do all three, it doesn't get made here. That's the line between urgency and fear-mongering, and we take it seriously.

You won't get a finished product pretending to have all the answers either. A skill you haven't practiced isn't protection. It's just weight. So the goal here is always the same: fewer things you're carrying that don't actually help you, more that do.

Why we give 10% away

Ten percent of proceeds from every Model Civilian product goes to We Get Water, an organization that provides clean water to communities that don't have it. It's not a marketing angle. It's built into the price before a single sale happens, whether anyone notices or not. We'd rather be the kind of brand that does the right thing quietly than the kind that talks about it loudly.
